I always knew that I wanted to be a counsellor, this desire has led me to obtain academic and professional experience in the counselling field. I feel that everyone can benefit from counselling supports, no matter what is occurring in their lives. I am passionate about helping people overcome trials and tribulations and helping them to develop into the best version of themselves, all while acknowledging that each person has their own journey to becoming the best version of themselves.
As your counsellor it is my job to support you in your journey to improving yourself. I offer clients a supportive place to be heard and validated, as well as a place to reflect. Counselling can look different for each person. I help with this through emotional support, providing psycho-educational tools, and presenting alternative perspectives. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental place where they feel heard and understood. I have primarily worked with individuals who have experienced trauma and those seeking support with their mental health. I have worked in various group counselling settings with both adults and children.
Currently, the modalities I use are solution focused, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and Gottman Method couples counselling. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families (specifically parents with neuro-diverse children) seeking support with mental health, general wellness, and trauma. I believe in evidence-based therapy and use scientifically proven methods in my practice.
I have earned a B.A. in psychology and criminology from Western University (2017), and a M.A. in
Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University (2021). I have been working as a counsellor since 2020.
